Scouting Report Update for TV and U12's

After reviewing some of the scouting reports that have been turned in and some good conversations I realized that originally the scouting report was created to watch college and high school games. Opps. Not so great for watching games on the tele.

Here's an easier version for the tube and for a twelve year old watching the game.

Tourney Update 3.22.08

It's been a while since I've updated the tournament and published the results. Overall the girls are doing a great job and I'm beginning to see the benefits of incorporating the homework aspects into the tourney.

Read My Coaching Analysis

Either way, the girls are doing a great job learning and applying their skills. You can see who is working hard to acquire and implement new skills and whose confidence is just taking off. Very cool.

Coaching Evaluation

So here's your chance to have your say in the evaluation process!

If you could give them to Cheryl by next weekend ( March 15th ) at the latest that will give me some time to review them all together and organize. You are more than welcome to give them to me directly but if you feel more inclined to go through Cheryl to give to me that's understandable as well.

There are several questions at the bottom of the form for the players to respond to directly but most of the evaluation is parent based. My desire is to get some feedback on the coaching process so please fill in the coaching evaluation so there can be improvement on both sides. Thanks!

Player Evaluations Part 2

It's that time of year again to do evaluations. I do evaluations three times a year--once in the beginning, mid-season at the end of the winter training's and again near the end of the summer. I did want to try something a bit different this time since I've been having some "informal" discussions about player performance with several parents. I thought I would do this with everyone in a scheduled format over the next month giving everyone a chance to have some air time for questions/concerns etc. (Makes it easier on everyone I think).

If you could please bring your initial evaluation to me ASAP so that I can reference the form and review your progress that would be most helpful. That's if you have the initial evaluation. If you don't, oh well.

Here's a schedule for you by player first name and last initial. If you need to change a date please try and switch with another family and then let me know. Before practices(B), please meet at least 20 minutes prior to practice and After practice (A) please allow for 20 minutes after practices. Hopefully evaluation's will only take 10-15 minutes. The extra time is built in for me to get ready and break down equipment.

I tried to schedule the Lakeville Carpool on Saturdays, but there's really no rhyme or reason to the schedule. Thanks

3/8 A--Sarah F.
3/11 B--Erica S.
3/11 A--Bridget S.
3/15 B--Emily M.
3/15 A-Mickelsons
3/18 B--
3/18 A-
3/22 B--Tori P.
3/22 A--Emma EL.
3/25 B--Allison A.
3/25 A--Isabel H.
3/29 B --Steph. B.
TBD-Helen F.

I've attached a sample evaluation for you to review with your daughter.

D-League Champions

Great job today! Rest on your laurels for a couple of days. We'll be back to work on Wednesday preparing to play Eden Prairie's C1 team. It should be a good matchup. Their Director of Coaching Wayne Harrison will be coaching so I'll be excited to face off against one of the best coaches in the state.
